The Youth IGF Indonesia Internship Programme aims to provide undergraduate and graduate students a practical experience working in an UN-recognised organisation.

The Youth IGF Indonesia can benefit from having qualified students to support its current operational needs. For the interns, they will learn about the work of The Youth IGF Indonesia supporting Indonesian youth community building process and gain a better understanding on the nature and dynamics of Internet Governance.

The Programme is also a valuable outreach tool to promote Internet Governance among Indonesian youth.

Background

The Youth IGF (www.youthigf.com) has been created in 2011 by TaC International based on the recommendation given by the MAG IGF the same year. It is a recognised initiative by the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (www.intgovforum.org).

The Youth IGF is a global movement that operates as a multi-stakeholder network. It allows the young (18-35 years old) to discuss and take a lead in issues related to Internet governance in the format of local, national or regional debates. Youth IGF centers its activities on the organisation of annual events, debates and talks, as well as training, capacity building and awareness-raising sessions on subjects related to Internet Governance.

The Youth IGF is based on the principles of the UN Internet Governance Forum (IGF) and full respect for them. The movement focuses its actions on four main areas: Internet Governance & the DNS , Online safety & Cybersecurity, Fakes and fakes medicines online and the Gender Equality related to the ICT.

Assignment Goal and Objectives

The objective is to assist the Deputy Main Coordinator with gathering of the information about events and happenings from different hubs and Chapters of the Youth IGF Movement and to build-up a efficient communication about the activities.

Duties/Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Deputy Main Coordinator of the Youth IGF Movement, the Intern will assist in the reporting and communicating about the activities happened in different Chapters of the Movement. And namely the intern will have the task of:

  1. Check weekly all social media account of all Chapters (based on the list of the existing accounts communicated to the intern)
  2. Check weekly all social media accounts of the Main leaders of the Chapters (based on the list of the existing accounts communicated to the intern)
  3. Check the information about the events communicated on the internal What’s app group
  4. Based on weekly findings fill-in the monthly newsletter (based on the communicated canvas)
  5. Based on weekly finding generate posts about the found activities on the Youth IGF main social accounts (Facebook and Twitter, Instagram (for the approved by the Deputy Head Coordinator photos)
  6. Insert into the monthly newsletter all events communicated by the Deputy Main Coordinator
  7. Generate the monthly automatic newsletter and communicate it to the subscribers list.

Background

TaC – Together against Cybercrime International is a non-profit anti-cybercrime organisation born in France with its headquarter in Geneva.

We are working internationally. Our main task is to assist victims of online illegal activities, develop educational tools on online safety, conceptualise and implement the awareness-raising activities on cybersecurity for different stakeholder groups. In 2008 we realised the need for civil society action in the fight against cybercrime. In January 2010, TaC International has been born.

Assignment Goal and Objectives

The objective is to assist TaC International in the management of social media accounts and to generate regularly posts related to cybersecurity based on the communicated strategy.

Duties/Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the TaC International Executive Director or Deputy Main Coordinator of the Youth IGF Movement, the Intern will assist in the management of the TaC International social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter and less often LinkedIn). And namely the intern will have the task of:

  1. Based on the generated by TaC International google alerts, generate daily posts (one per day) on two media accounts of TaC International (Facebook and Twitter). Posts should not be very long and being attractive (like have a video or photo). It is not asked to the intern to generate the video or the photo, it can be taken from the news that is generated by the google alert. The post can have tags, the tags should be chosen strategically.
  2. Post all other information that will be asked to post or by the TaC International Executive Director or by the Deputy Coordinator of the Youth IGF Movement.
  3. Create two monthly posts at the LinkedIn page of the TaC International related to the activity of TaC International (based on the communicated information by the TaC team to the intern)
