Bully.id as a Representation of Innovation Created by Indonesian Youth in the UN IGF Annual Meeting 2019
Berlin, DE (November 25-29, 2019) – Internet Governance Forum, a multi-stakeholder governance group for policy dialogue on issues of internet governance recognized by the United Nations, held an annual meeting in Berlin, Germany from November 25 to 29, 2019. The theme for this meeting is “One World, One Vision”. It symbolizes the sovereignty and inclusivity that UN IGF would like to promote in bringing people together as one and creating safer ways of using the internet.
Participated in the meeting were the members of UN IGF and its initiatives. Acted as the Ambassador of Youth IGF Indonesia, Agita Pasaribu delivered the activities done by the organization initiated by UN IGF and TaC (Together Against Cybercrime) International for younger generation. As a movement that operates as a multi-stakeholder platform allowing Indonesian young people to discuss and take lead in issues related to internet governance in the format of local to global discussions, Youth IGF Indonesia established a project named Bully.id. It is a mobile application integrated with AI technology which aimed to give emotional support and legal assistance to the victims of cyberbullying which developed in a form of free mobile application. Agita said that the application is in line with the vision of UN IGF.
The meeting also presented Antonio Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations. On his speech, he stated that the UN IGF is the medium for multi-stakeholder to discuss emerging issues, explore possibility to work on digital inclusion and security, mainly technology to create international framework that is human centric. Despite all the technology advances that seems to has no limit in growing, human beings remain to be the only creatures which able to maintain it with wisdom.
